RULING NOTICE
WIC PROGRAM AUTHORIZED VENDORS RULES ADOPTION
The Department of Health informs that the Puerto Rico WIC Program is proposing to adopt the Authorized Vendors’ Rules according to 7 CRF §246, and the Uniform Administrative Procedures Law, Law No. 170 of August 12, 1988, 3 L.P.R.A. § 2101, et.seq., as amended, which authorize the Secretary of the Department of Health of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico to adopt the public policy, the rules and regulations and the procedures for the administration of the WIC Program.
The proposed regulation intends to establish the authorized vendors’ duties and obligations; the rules and procedures to operate the authorized stores; the procedures to identify and classify the authorized vendors; the cost containment plan; the vendors’ violations to the regulations and the sanction schedule.
The proposed regulation will be available for review from June 24, 2008, at the WIC Program’s Main Office located at Trinidad Street 198, Piñero Urbanization in San Juan, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 m. and from 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Copy of the document will be available electronically in the Department of Health’s web page in the following address: http://www.salud.gov.pr
